Skin Etc was established in 2004 and specialises in wrinkle (muscle relaxation), Dermal Filler and Skin Peel aesthetic treatments. The clinic is based at the award winning Northway Medical Centre, Dudley, West Midlands. Opened February 2007, Skin Etc has a second clinic in Bridgnorth, extending access to treatments at Skin Etc to Shropshire and North Worcestershire, with the clinic being a short drive from Telford, Shifnal, Shrewsbury, Kidderminster and Ludlow.

All of the treatments are carried out by Dr Dan Dhunna MBBS MRCGP DRCOG DFFP  Dr Dhunna is a registered GP, with considerable experience in Dermatology and Cosmetic Procedures. He is a graduate of the Imperial College School of Medicine, University of London and is a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. He is also a trainer at Med E Train, which provides aesthetic training courses in Botox®/Vistabel® and dermal filler treatments.

0844 815 8455 read more ...After a thorough review of the Non Surgical Cosmetic Industry and following calls from Consumer and medical groups for stronger regulation in the use of wrinkle reducing treatments government body the IHAS, nurses body the NMC and Doctors body the GMC have all agreed new guidelines for the use and prescribing of wrinkle reducing injections.
Wrinkle reducing injections are prescription only drug, and although nurses and midwives are allowed to inject the drug, most are not able to prescribe and hence the prescription is issued by a prescriber, which is usually a medical Doctor.
Uptil now many nurses were using a "loophole" in the system which allowed the issuing of a prescription for wrinkle reducing injections and similar drugs to be done WITHOUT THE PRESCRIBER SEEING THE PATIENT. In many cases, a prescription was issued to the nurse injector after a phone call, and in some cases without the prescribing practitioner having significant knowledge of the patient the drug was being used for. Certain companies were also benefiting from the system for charging nurses for this service.
The IHAS, the NMC and the GMC no longer see the use of remote prescribing by telephone, text, webcam , fax etc as "Best Medical Practice".
The MHRA (medicines and healthcare products regulatory agency), GMC and the NMC state that remote prescribing where the patient has presented for treatment, and the aesthetic nurse has the option to remotely contact a doctor by phone, e-mail, fax, web cam etc) should not be used as a normal method of prescribing.
Therefore it is quite clear that those currently charging on average of £30 to £40 per telephone consultation are operating against these guidelines and both the Nurses and the Doctors involved can be disciplined.
Face to Face Consultations with the Prescribing Doctor are now deemed MANDATORY.
